茶・人在草木間

「人在草木間」，是我們想傳遞的茶空間姿態 —— 汲取自然的純粹，腳踏實地地與土地共存。櫟社希望讓每位來客在這裡感受到一種來自東方、安靜而深刻的空間體驗。

基地位於台中中區、鄰近台中公園，周邊為傳統舊城街區。為回應這樣的紋理，我們讓建築低調地隱於巷弄，並以園林環抱其間，透過鏡面材質揉合周圍老城風貌，延伸出一座城市中的靜謐綠洲。

空間設計取法山水畫的構圖層次，分為前景、中景與遠景三層：

前景：金屬與石材構成的山石展示台，如墨色濃重的筆觸。

中景：雲牆意象的展示傢俱，象徵通往山水的門徑。

遠景：天花淡墨山水畫與可旋轉的真樹穴，虛實交融。

室內設置四座大型玻璃植栽轉台，讓真樹入室，模糊內外界線。透過雲牆圓形門洞借景，景深錯落交疊，形成步移景換的空間節奏。

燈光則以智能照明系統，調整色溫與明暗，帶出空間氛圍，同時引導參觀動線。

整體以「園中有園」的概念，將東方園林轉化為當代表達，讓喝茶成為一種回歸自然、靜觀萬物的過程，咫尺之內，自有天地。

Tea – Between Humans and Nature

"To dwell among nature" is the essence of this tea space—drawing from the quiet resilience of vegetation and grounding oneself in the soil. Li Society invites guests to enter an Eastern-inspired sanctuary, where stillness and nature coalesce.

Situated in Taichung’s Central District near Taichung Park, the project responds to its old-town surroundings by quietly blending into the alleyways. A landscaped garden wraps around the building, with mirrored materials reflecting the aged urban textures—creating a secluded green retreat in the city.

Inspired by traditional Chinese landscape paintings, the interior unfolds in three layers of spatial composition:

Foreground: A central installation of metal and stone, evoking bold ink strokes.
Middle: Display furniture shaped like cloud walls, symbolic thresholds into nature.
Background: Ink-wash ceiling murals and four revolving glass tree wells blend the real and the imagined.

Four large indoor planting turntables allow trees to enter the space, softening the division between interior and exterior. Circular cloud-wall openings offer layered views that shift with movement, creating a cinematic, ever-changing spatial rhythm.

Smart lighting adjusts color temperature and brightness to shape atmosphere and guide flow.

Through the concept of "a garden within a garden," we reinterpret traditional Eastern gardens in a contemporary language—transforming tea drinking into a mindful return to nature, where a vast landscape can unfold in the span of a few steps.
