Meijiscoops marks a new beginning in Tainan, blending tradition with innovation. Housed in a century-old Japanese-style dormitory on Chihkan East Street—originally a first-generation government residence—the space has been revitalized through a public-private collaboration led by the Cultural Affairs Bureau. The site is divided into north and south wings.
The visual design centers on the fusion of old and new. Traditional features like tiled roofs, wooden structures, and tatami mats are paired with modern geometric forms. A soft neutral palette, accented with warm orange and natural wood tones, reflects the texture of the space and the coolness of the ice cream.
Packaging uses textured paper to evoke a handmade, nostalgic feel. With a refined and understated style, Meijiscoops turns every scoop into an experience that connects memory, architecture, and flavor.
